I would like to take all kinds of objects (googly eyes, feathers, foam shapes, whatever) and have they kids make their own crowns. They have the fun of making something and they have the fun of wearing it around after.
Precut long strings of paper maybe 6" wide (tall)
Lay out glue, glue sticks, whatever.
Let me them decorate.
Let it dry. (if you just use glue sticks you could use this right away.)
The next day show them how you are stapling it together and let them play.
The possible drawback. They rip each others and get upset so it may be a good idea to have some extras that are pre-made just in case.
